21 teams, and 84 golfers set out for a shotgun start at 10:45am, and the weather turned from a sharp frosty morning, to a fantastic ‘blue-sky’ heaven. Scoring from the teams was superb and the lead changed places a number of times before CPC UK Limited crossed the line with a fantastic ‘best 2 from 4’ Stableford score of 92 points. The team consisting of Paul O'Brien (2), Gary Perry (18), Nigel Chandler (24), and Jay Patel (20) all had fairly modest solo scores. However, typically with this format, the better scores were in all the right places to ensure victory. The longest drive at the 418yd, 2nd hole was an absolute monster by Paul Hakim (16) and nearest the pin was won by 81-year-old Dennis Dignam (11) who put it to just 6 inches at the 149yd, 12th hole.
Former Crystal Palace legends Ian Wright (7) and John Salako (12) both had great rounds of 73, and 75 respectively for 38, and 41pts. John missed out on the Individual Stableford competition that was won with 41pts from Brett Capaldi (16) playing for Team Derek Burridge Trophies.
The course, location, staff, food, and organisers at Wentworth were first class and GolfScoreLIVE would like to thank Keith Balson-Scales and Tom Ward for their superb assistance.
The very best of luck to Brentford FC in the coming weeks and hope you’re playing top-flight football next season!
